3J’s Wildwood Bowl in NJ (Larry Hippen, proprietor) was
acknowledged as the Best Bowling Center by their area’s Shore
Publications.
Steve
Sempeck, proprietor of Gateway Lanes in Elkhorn, Nebraska and his
wife, Lori, received the Elkhorn Public Schools Business of the Year
Award. In particular, their “Say no to drugs, say yest to bowling”
summer program and after-school bus programs were acknowledged for their
success. The summer program has provided a valuable recreation alternative
to families and the after school program has grown to 265 bowlers. Steve,
a Kaploe account executive, and Gateway Laness have worked closely with
the schools for 14 years.
Bernie
Mark, proprietor of Rockaway Lanes in New Jersey, was recognized
with a Service Award by the Metropolitan Bowling Writers at the East
Coast Bowling Centers Convention in November.
